Wintzell's Oyster House

Be sure to enjoy happy hour featuring $1 fresh oysters on the half shell, roasted, Rockefeller, or Bienville! Haven't seen such large oysters outside of New Orleans. Pair with fried green tomatoes topped with house crayfish sauce and your fave beverage...a satisfying Friday meal! Wait staff are very pleasant.

The fried catfish platter was excellent. I also tried the Oysters Rockefeller but this was not as good as I've had it other places and recommend you skip it. . The service was prompt and friendly. One thing that did surprise me was that a 3.5 percent extra charge for using a credit card was tacked on the bill. So be aware if you're paying with a credit card. This is certainly not expected and unusual to see in restaurants.

Wife and I had a really great dinner here. Appetizers - Gumbo and Crab Soup were really good.
I had Shrimp Basket and wife had Oysters Basket which was really good too.
Our server Savanna, did an outstanding job. We will definitely be back.

First time eating at a Wintzell's and we enjoyed it. Started with a friendly hostess greeting and seating us. Moved onto a friendly, attentive, patient, and knowledgeable server...Alex. She was very nice and answered all of our questions, the 1 or 2 she didn't know she promptly found answers for us. The food was hot and fresh. We didn't love it all but we enjoyed enough things that that won't stop us from trying more things next time. We will definitely come back here.
