Iron Skillet Restaurant

Nice clean restaurant, our server was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately one order was wrong, we requested not to have Dijon mayonnaise on the chicken burger, when we pointed out it was still on it, the waitress checked with the kitchen who said it was a Dijon sauce not mayonnaise, but the menu stated it was Dijon mayonnaise, and it tasted like Dijon mayonnaise, which was the issue in the first place. To save time we told the waitress she could just bring a fresh bun and we would scrape the mayonnaise off ourselves, which she did with some obvious relief that she would not need to take the whole order back, even though this was clearly not an ideal solution. The fries were also undercooked and cold. The fried shrimp were spot on.

It's the best buffet hand's down ever. Massive parking lot for semis and cars. Well done Petro staff. You can even get the buffet to go if you are in a hurry.! You guys rock.

This place right here is a jewel, not many passer buys would know. Combined with good southern home cooking , things made from scratch along with the portions. WOW!

We went to Tannehill State Park and decided to stop in for a late dinner. We'd stopped in before after visiting the park but it was a couple of years ago.
We all got one of their choices of steak with baked potato and salad bar. The steaks were great! They beat the last Outback Steakhouse we ate at in Hoover, hands down! And the service was terrific..again, a thousand times better than what we'd gotten at Outback! The restrooms were clean and well attended as well. You can really tell the manager runs a great place!
So forget your predisposed thinking of a typical truck stop! This was a great restaurant experience!
