Fatty Matty's BBQ

Stopped here on a whim on our way to Gulf Shores. The best bbq I've ever had! He has a pulled pork sandwich with grilled cheese sandwiches for buns. AMAZING! And his Mawma's cornbread muffins are to die for. We can't wait to stop again on our way home.

Absolutely delicious BBQ, wonderful outdoor seating, clean restrooms. The pulled chicken was delicious, I can only complain about 1 thing and that is it’s a 10 hour drive from my home state. Well worth the stop if you’re in the area. Highly recommend the chicken and pulled pork. I would recommend the beans as well but I didn’t personally eat them my son devoured them before I could get a bite, but he said they were yummy!

This place is a MUST!!! I’m from Memphis and this rivals some of the best BBQ on every level. The pulled pork was tender and moist, I’m not a fan of Mac and cheese but it was Gouda so I had to try. I could live in a big pan of that stuff!!!! The cornbread had this awesome kick of pepper and super moist. My husband had the sausage as part of his two meat platter and he loved it. The owner came and talked to us for a while and what a guy!!! Matty you got skills man! We will be back and I promise next time to try those smoked collards. Keep it up!

Driving north from Orange Beach to Laurel and we needed a break and some lunch when there appeared Fatty Matty's. We enjoyed an excellent lunch. Both the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Sausage Plate were fantastic and way above what we hoped for! The place was very clean and well kept and everybody inside (especially the young lady who helped us) were incredibly friendly! If we were local we'd absolutely be back, but since we live about 2500 miles away we'll just say Thank You and Keep it up!!!

My only problem with the place is that it's a hour drive from home. I ordered the chicken quarter plate with sweet BBQ sauce. It was delicious. I had heard so much about the ribs that I ordered a slab to go. Instead of waiting after my meal, I ate one. They are absolutely wonderful. A smokey flavor, tender and a good pull. Do yourself a favor and if you want BBQ, make the drive.
