This is an excellent hotel, I stayed there dozens of times while I worked in Southeast Alaska. Yes, it is slightly more expensive than other hotels in the area but, and trust me here, most hotels in Alaska are not like those in the lower 48. You will be very disappointed in most AK hotels, not this one. This is the Ritz Carlton in Alaska and it is deserved. If you, or your family, are staying in Anchorage the Cook is worth the few extra dollars.

My room was excellent and I appreciated the hotel’s location in the city. Many of the places I wanted to visit were within walking distance.

My favorite hotel in Alaska. Great location, feels like a real hotel from a bygone era that has all the modern amenities. Right in the heart of downtown, with views of the sea, and the mountains; always fun if the volcanos are venting.

I really enjoyed my stay during my trip to Alaska. I had no idea the Iditarod was starting the same weekend I was in Anchorage, but the festivities did not disappoint. The hotel is within walking distance of many things. I visited the museum, and a few restaurants and bars in the city as well as watched the ceremonial start of the race. Fletcher's, which is one of Cook's three restaurants, was fantastic. I went there several times for drinks and food. The service there was fantastic. The Captain's Deck had good breakfast and good afternoon snacks. The coffee was very good. All of the staff at the hotel is super great and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. I will definitely return during a summer to experience the summer side of Alaska.

Great downtown location. Check out the Crows Nest bar / restaurant on the top floor of tower 3 it offers fine dining & and extensive wine selection. 360 degree views
