I lived a lot of places claiming to have great pizza. But Moose's Tooth earns a top spot, Alaskan style, this place is always slammed packed, especially in high season. But they know how to make a mouth watering pizza and wide variety of beers to wash it down with. I even had them cater the rehearsal dinner for my wedding. Can't beat it. Diablo sticks are to die for. And their seasonal specials always keep things fresh and interesting. My only complain is they don't have a second location!

Well I am just going to say it, “BEST CHEESE BREAD ANY WHERE!”, this is NOT an over exaggeration! Beer was great, pizza was great, dessert was great! I have yet to eat or drink some thing there that wasn’t good. Every time I eat here I find it hard to come back home.

This place has really creative options and high quality ingredients. It seems the portions have changed over the years and it doesn’t seem to matter cause the place is always packed.

The staff is always friendly and the bar tenders are on point! Open late and Togo orders always come as ordered. Haven’t ever had a problem and eaten here many times.

Where to start? If you come to Anchorage and don’t find your way to the Moose’s Tooth (or their sister location, the Bear Tooth) you have done your travel planning all wrong. The place is an experience, the pizza unique and delicious, the beer is some of the best brewed in Alaska. Their brand swag is worn proudly by locals...which says a lot. Of course, a popular place like this requires a wait (no reservations). We always get drinks and play charades. The Backpacker’s Pizza is one of our favorites but there is no bad choice. Their home brew root beer and cream soda are worth the calories as is the Hungarian Mushroom Soup (and I don’t even really like mushrooms). The beer selection is wide and it is worth noting that many competing restaurants carry their brews. If you are having a special event, they have a side room that they rent at certain days/times during the week. In addition to fantastic food they host First Tap Thursday’s and many concerts during the year...so be sure to check their website. They are also a great spot for to-go orders as they have designated parking and registers for those picking up. The staff is a mix of familiar faces who have been there forever and teens and college students who have always been welcomed as employees. Everyone is friendly and they have creative combo suggestions, so make sure to ask! If you want the experience but not the wait, I’ve found that between 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. the crowd thins a bit and tables turn over quickly.

I’m from east coast so I know pizza! I will say on a positive note that the pizza was fresh, sauce had a great flavor, crust was hand tossed to perfection and they had great vegan toppings to choose from. On another note just for feedback the menu was WAY confusing when you build your own. We went from getting like a $6 vegan crust to totaling over $30 for one pizza after topping and vegan cheese was added. When we initially decided to build a pizza our server told us each topping was .50cents when they ended up being like $4 each. When we travel I like to visit so called top restaurants in the area but I would quite recommend this one to that kind of list. They had a note saying they were like 3rd in the nation......I’d h e to totally read on who gave that rating. Good pizza not bad but totally not worth the cost. I almost regretting that meal and wished I had of gone to just eat seafood where I would have better understood the Pricing???? Gourmet pizza I understand but this was like my typical Texas pizza I order on a usual basis back home. Also IF VEGAN the staff wasn’t too knowledgeable about what didn’t have dairy and what did. The butternut squash soup ended up being my only soup option and that was very good, very flavorful.
