Busy, fun and lively! The hollering by the staff really added to the entertainment and vibe. If only we lived in AZ we could return. (PS the food and service was great)
Good reviews and early opening (5:00 AM) drew me here. "The Hungry man" breakfast was substantial and very good. The biscuits and gravy came with three huge biscuits and I only was able to eat one. Service was efficient and food came quickly. I won't be back in Flagstaff but would certainly go back here if I did.
This place is "THE BOMB"!!! I had the Hungry Man's breakfast and it was AWESOME! At first I thought $13.50 for breakfast at a greasy spoon restaurant? WRONG, and totally worth it! This place has superb bacon that is super thick cooked perfectly to firm but not crunchy! The eggs are high quality with deep yellow yolks producing a nice rich taste.. Then theres the biscuits which are 3 extra large (4" square) fluffy buttermilk biscuits along with a tasty white sausage gravy. I love Cracker Barrel but this place blows it out of the water! Service was excellent as should be. The only thing I would suggest is to drop one biscuit because I could only eat one and still had an extra to take home. They even gave me another cup of gravy to take home. These people are super cool and work hard to provide us with awesome quality home style food!! Their teamwork is excellent and it shows as you can tell they love working here... THESE ARE THE PLACES WE SHOULD BE SUPPORTING AS THIS IS WHAT AMERICAN CAPITALISM IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT RATHER THAN GIANT CORPORATIONS.
I forgot photos again, but I plan to return at another time, so I'll rectify that on a later trip. We went here a few weeks ago to grab a late dinner. The food was pretty good. My husband couldn't finish all of his. The portions were quite generous. He had the chicken fried steak and biscuit and gravy. I had a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. It was pretty good. Not great, but not bad. The bacon was thick cut, which I normally would appreciate. However, it was completely overcooked, so I took it off the sandwich and only picked at it. The poor waitress was running her tail off and the other one didn't seem to be much help at all. We tipped her well because she was really great and obviously doing her best. I just wish I had gotten her name so I could give her a shout out. The pies were great! We tried coconut cream, chocolate cream, and peach, which we took to go and ate later. I'd go back again just for pie if nothing else. Next time I want to try breakfast because my husband's looked fantastic. I was just so full from mine I didn't have room to even try his out. I could have ordered breakfast this trip as breakfast is available all day (something else I love), but I was craving protein, so went for the chicken instead. Overall it was a decent place to eat. It wasn't phenomenal, but I'll go back again for sure to give it another try.
Big servings, make sure your hungry :-)
