The music selection is very relaxed and they have good songs every now and again! Songs such as Strangers, Once Upon A Time by Lana del Rey, and Heads Will Roll.
Tried their whiskey Chai by recommendation and it did not disappoint. Despite not drinking Chai, this drink blew me away. And it is definitely a huge bang for your buck ($11 for an entire mug)
Enjoyed some lovely cocktails. Didn't try any food, but the service at the bar was great. Kelly made the best drinks. She even went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.
Rating is for beverages, but I digress. Super cute bar serving upscale cocktails in a relaxing environment. We each got a whiskey drink (one Manhattan and one Old Fashioned). Both were very well prepared. The bartender mixed our cocktails in the traditional fashion, including the fired citrus zest in the Old Fashioned. We sat in one of the side-rooms that had comfy leather couches and really nice stained glass lighting effects.
One thing I might suggest is stocking up on the big ice cubes that are one of the markers of quality at a cocktail bar like this. It looks pretty mediocre for the presentation quality of certain classic cocktails when it is served with little ice cubes. They also melt much faster and take away from the flavor and experience.
We have been coming here for a long time. Most of the bartenders here are very nice and the drinks are really good. They are kinda pricey, but they are worth the try.
A classier bar with good wine selection, popular with locals and especially with the professional university crowd and the 30-something singles. Cocktails are a specialty, along with tapas and appetizers. Colocated with the historic Hotel Monte Vista. It's not really a family place; take your kids elsewhere.
