Spent 3 nights at Cliff Dwellers and absolutely loved it! Rooms a little dated but super clean and comfy. Food was excellent with a surprisingly extensive menu. The little store had all the necessities and some beautiful silver jewelry. The staff couldn't have been more accomidating. We felt like family. Great time on the river and hiking. Hope we get to spend more time at Cliff Dwellers!
The place is geared to fishermen and river rafters. It is rustic, which is another way of saying basic amenities and nothing fancy. The people are very nice and the waitstaff was good in the restaurant. The food is ample and decent. On the downside, there was an envelope for us to leave a tip for “Crystal” who was taking care of our room. We would have left one had she been to our room at all over four days. The owners were very gracious and happy to give us fresh towels. We didn’t sweat it too much since we were fishing but some room attention would’ve been nice. Also, some of the outlets in our room didn’t work so my phone didn’t charge. The TV had about 12 stations, notable programming being The Andy Griffith Show and FOX News, only three of which had sound. I’m not sure why. There is no internet and cell service is sporadic.
The lodge was clean. The room was rustic and comfortable. The office personnel were helpful and accommodating. The resturant food was creative and well cooked with a attractive presentation. We booked a fishing day which was well coordinated and very productive. Skip was our guide and was one of the most well organized and knowledgeable guides we have ever had.
We stopped here for breakfast on the way from Zion National Park to the Grand Canyon South Rim. We had pancakes, yogurt parfait, biscuits and gravy. The gravy was awesome - a definite must try. Pancakes also great and had a good crisp on the edges. It was such a pleasant surprise stop and so glad we made it. Audra, our server, was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a good place to stop!
5 plus stars for this place. Stayed two nights and didn't regret anything. Service was excellent, food and drinks were fantastic (chef's kiss) make sure you get a River-rita. We got a couple of pitchers and took what was left to our room, beds were comfortable (full size) sheets were so soft. This is the place to go after a long day on the river. You'll probably run into one of your guides here for sure. Coming back again and again. Kudos to everyone there who made our stay comfortable! (standing ovation)
**One thing that we needed the most was more outlets for our electronics so I was really glad I thought to bring my Stanley CAT battery. It was able to charge everyone's phones and go pro batteries**
