This was my first time at this restaurant. I really wasn't impressed. The menu was strange. I went with another Chinese friend who suggested it. The portions were plentiful, that's for sure. It wasn't very busy on a Thursday evening if that is an indication of how good they are. I tried to ask about getting a chow mein vegetable dish and add some tofu and they almost lost their mind. They would not deviate from the menu. 2 staff members came out to tell me they would not do it and they seemed upset. It's hard not to want beef and pork in a traditional Chinese restaurant. I settled on eggplant. I don't want to just eat eggplant for my whole dinner but it was $9.95 and if I added another vegetable like green beans that would have been another $9.95 which is ridiculous. The spicy sauce on the eggplant was delicious. I asked them if they use MSG and they said no because I cannot tolerate MSG. I also ordered another dish with bean sprouts and vegetables Mugu something like that. My friends told me to add chicken because they would eat it, but the chicken looked kind of raw. I don't think I'll go back. They don't have enough vegetarian dishes. It's not Asian fusion it's old-time Asian. I think they're from Shanghai. You might like it if you like beef and pork because that's what they mainly had. The place was huge but there was nobody in it. Would I return? Probably not.
Hey Kareem, hop back on your camel and go back to your sand pit/watermelon patch and stop playing the race card. That's all you people know how to do.
This place has nice staff and great food and my Chinese wife and I enjoy eating here.
Best Chinese food in Phoenix area!!
Really recommend eating "Family Style" so you can share and try more things. Try the Fish in Spicy Bean Sauce or the Mapo Tofu as your anchor dishes and then add Shredded Pork, Yushiang Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Sauteed String Beans or Broccoli to green things up a bit. You can't go wrong.
Everything is of the highest quality with each dish having truly unique and distinct flavors. Definitely not the "pile of bamboo shoots" kind of Chinese restaurant!
Great Deliciousness, food is amazing, service is amazing. I’ve been here at least 10 times and they never let the cups get half way before asking if you need a refill. Great staff, happy place to eat and very very good food
I love Chinese food, especially the spicy dishes, and I believe this restaurant fits my tasty needs. This is my second trip to this restaurant. Why do I not frequent this place, well, the only drawback i could would be the price. I've had my fair share of Chinese food, and I think the price can go down just a tad bit. I'm not cheap, by any stretch of the imagination. Now, the portions are reasonable and taste is to my liking...and I'm sure yours as well.
As for the waitress that served us, she was attentive. From refilling our drinks to clearing our table. If you've frequent Chinese restaurants, I'm sure you've noticed that good service and good food does not go hand in hand, or you don't often find good food and services at any typical Chinese restaurants, this tends to be a common theme for these restaurants (sad to say). I hope the owner continues to be attentive with their service, if so, then I can overlook the price of each dish more often than not.
Would I recommend this restaurant, absolutely! I would say try it once, and decide for yourself if you want to be a repeat customer.
