Baja Joe's Mexican Cantina

I used to love It there,, however, sometimes service is better at the bar than the tables. Happy Hour is a value. Ceviche is good. It's pretty weak that they do not give complimentary chips and salsa now...used to go once a week, now once every 2 months.

Good food, but everything is a cost add on--and they won't tell you (such as chips and salsa are not complimentary.) For example, we were asked after the order is made if, "Would you like chips & salsa..." as if we had been forgotten, rather than, "would you like to add them". Not a big cost--and in reality worth the added cost. I had other concerns with how menu options were presented and not explained. Sure, McDonald's charges for each food item separately, but I am not charged separate for onions on my burger. At a Mexican style restaurant with $10 to $40 plates...one would assume that if I am being asked if I want chips/salsa or beans in my burrito, I am not getting charged extra without being told it is extra...

I should also mention that when I questioned the server (not our waitress) about my order, she responded to me that I should have ordered it better...then of course, when the bill arrived I was charged for what I had ordered, not what I was served. Mistakes happen, but really...at least try to make it right rather than blame the customer.
