Raices Restaurant & Coffee bar

I used to go to Millie’s cafe, it was a comfort to me because I’ve lost most of my Puerto Rican family and this, my heritage. I like to cook Puerto Rican dishes at home, family recipes. But being able to go to a place that tastes like home is such a joy. Raíces knocked it straight out of the park! The service was amazing (as my Spanish is not) they were very helpful and kind.
The food came up quick, and when I forgot part of my order there they called me to let me know!

On to the food!
It is definitely different from Millie’s, in the best way! Change is good right?!
The chicken is fried and the seasonings just slam! It is so tender and falls off the bone.
The rice is cooked to perfection (consistency is key right?)
The stewed beans taste just like my childhood!

Years back Millie’s stopped serving relleno de papa (stuffed potatoes) they’re difficult to make! I’ve missed them ever since and to learn Raíces serves them absolutely made my day!!! They are so delicious it’s unreal!

As a whole this entire experiences made my entire week! I was just driving home and I thought “oh illl stop at Millie’s I’m right here” and found Raíces instead, it was amazing, I will absolutely be back, absolutely!!!

Puertorrican food here in Arizona! We miss Puerto Rico but going there make us feel like eating in our Island. Food was super good.. service was faster than expected and delicious flavors. Higly recommended.

Delicious food and excellent customer service! The drive was worth it. We dined in and took plenty of food to go. The restaurant had a lot of variety of tradicional puertorican food and desserts. Can’t wait to go back!
