Welcome Chicken and Donuts

This place has Awesome chicken. The different sauces are so good that you can eat it by itself. But with the chicken? Oh baby it is a killer combo. Use it as a dip or another the pieces in them. I highly recommend you go try it. I got the Japanese sauce.

The best gourmet lunch spot in all Central Phoenix! If you're looking for a cozy place to impress a client or business associate, this is the spot!!! Upgrade to a "case" doughnut and you will have to agree with me!

Arrived close to their closing time which meant they were out of chicken, which was a bummer for us. But the guy gave us free donuts in return which was so nice. It was a yummy donut and I definitely want to come back and try the chicken.

After reading multiple rave reviews and waiting several long months to make the trek, I had high expectations for the food and experience at Welcome Chicken and Donuts. Unfortunately, I must say, I was fairly disappointed with my experience.

When I arrived at 12:30 on a Sunday I was informed that they were out of all pieces of chicken except for wings and breasts. I changed my order to include two chicken breasts, one tossed in the Korean sauce and another in Nashville Hot. When I asked the cashier which donut I should get she responded with "it doesn't really matter, they all taste the same." After ordering, my wife and I sit down. Shortly after sitting my wife's drink is brought to her, but I still have yet to receive mine. I get up to go ask for my beverage and the staff informed that they would bring everything out to the table before I had the opportunity to request my beverage. A short while later, our food was brought out (sans my beverage). When I went in to ask about my beverage the staff member sighed in frustration, turned to the back without a word and grabbed me my beverage.

In regards to the chicken, I was quite happy with the Korean fried chicken. The chicken came out crispy with great flavor and a robust and bold flavor. The Nashville hot chicken came out dry and lukewarm, badly needing some kind of dressing to provide flavor. The donuts were mediocre, falling drastically short of the hopes I held for them. Overall, I would come back to order the Korean Fried Chicken, but it may be awhile before I would make the journey back to WC&D.
