Went here for my birthday with family and friends. Booking was easy, table was ready for us once we arrived. Staff and serves were so nice and friendly. The food came in a reasonable time along with it was a big plate. It was delicious and well cooked. I also got some strawberry shortcake at the end for dessert for my birthday, also very good. They’re amazing at plating/garnishing.

Stockyards touts itself as the oldest restaurant in Phoenix, Az. The photos lacing the walls definitely take you back in history. The food is outstanding as the Prime Rib and Elk Medallions were superb. And don’t forget dessert as the Citrus Burnt Creme was to die for.... The service from the staff was spot on! This restaurant is a throwback to the "good old days" of superior service. Our experience was wonderful - the food delicious and the menu offered some special choices. The rooms are filled with excellent Western artwork and the atmosphere upscale.

Food was disappointing in that I ordered the walleyed pike and it was dry and lots if bones. Had to send it back. Nice interior attentive and friendly staff though. It was our first time there so might try it again. Prime rib wasn't all that tender either. Maybe it was a bad day?

You would think a steakhouse would know how to cook steak. I ordered my steak medium rare, my wife ordered well done. I received my steak rare. Like not even seared. It looked like it had been just sliced off the meat and put on a plate. My wife sent hers back because it was pink on the inside. I ate mine because I don't mind rare but was disappointed.

Edit: in thinking about it and seeing other photos, it seems like what the chef does is cook a whole slab medium rare and slice off pieces. That explains why I got a steak seared on the surrounding edges but raw in total.

We went for lunch and it was pretty good! Look at the portion sizes! The food tasted fresh and the meat was so tender. Unfortunately they didn’t have biscuits for lunch so we ordered garlic toast. It was definitely worth it! Fish and chips were affordable at 16 dollars. The steak was close to 40. The ambiance of this place was great... cowboy and western! I would recommend this place to bring friends visiting from out of town too.
