We LOVE the food, but Karl, blew us away. We came in hungry and weren’t really enthusiastic about having a long wait. Upon coming in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel at home while we waited for our food. We thought we were going to have to at least wait a half hour or more, but it didn’t take more than 20 min maybe. Karl asked if we wanted to eat our salad while we waited, offered us drinks, and truly made us feel happy to be there. Normally, we don’t go to that location, but it will now be our regular!! Thanks Karl, you are wonderful.
Nothing like a slice of Lou Malnati's deep dish to make a Chicagoan feel right at home. While waiting for my order I met another Southsider. We grew up within a few miles of each other.
I brought the pie and a Lou Malnati's salad home for some friends to try an authentic Chicago deep dish pizza and one of the best salads ever! It did not disappoint.
Step through the threshold and you're out of the desert and in a Chicago pizzeria, albeit more instagrammable. Yep, Lou's has literally blessed (#blessed) the people of the Valley of the Sun with his impossibly deep pizza. I've been a half-dozen times and have never been disappointed...though I keep getting the same thing: either the Chicago Classic or the Lou's (why mess with winners). Beer selection could use expanding but there's usually something to find to go along with the pie.
I went with a group for a birthday celebration and the staff made it easy—from reserving a large table to directing the stragglers to the party to splitting the check. Service was attentive and they even helped with the cake!
I'm a big fan of deep dish pizza and I really like this place. I tried Lou Malnati's several years ago while in Chicago for a business trip, I'm glad they opened one up in AZ. Only disappointment is that it's so far, they should really consider opening one up in Gilbert or Chandler.
