If you like seafood, and good service, this is the place.

Chula Seafood finally blesses us with a second location in the Phoenix area and believe me, it's a good thing.
From the friendly service, to the delicious selection of raw and cooked fish, this company goes above and beyond.
I've eaten at their Scottsdale location every so often, and now that they have a location more "centrally" located (get it?) I'm going to have to make this a habitual stop.

    The good:
They know their stuff. Their fish is caught and transported weekly from the San Diego area. Let's face it, seafood in Phoenix is sketchy.
It's always nice to support a family business, especially when they prioritize quality.
Their location and building is lovely. As an artist I appreciate their exposed brick and hand-painted maritime artwork.
They support other local companies/businesses and sell some of their products inside.

    Cons:
The only one I can think of is that it can get pricey. That said, I'd rather pay a little more for fish to know it's fresh.
The servings aren't the biggest. If you want to pound large amounts of food for cheap, this isn't your place.

Their seafood selection is incredible. Don't get me wrong. I don't eat raw fish, so I am in no way adding my opinion there. They have beer and wine at this location, limited but nice selection! My friends had a crab roll and from the East Coast. They said it wasn't "traditional" but absolutely delish! Beautiful and clean eating area. Friendly and helpful people, and their fish counter is gorgeous. Loved this experience. Easy parking and fun places to go around it

On our second visit we were overwhelmed by the scent (not aroma) of fish. The place smelled fishy. Like the back of a trawler on a warm afternoon fishy. It was oft-putting to say the least. We left immediately. YMMV. First visit here was fine. Food is OK. They will need to do something about those unshaded west-facing windows come summer or else dining here in the early evening will be unbearable. And I expect the added heat element won't help that fishy smell.

Best and freshest seafood in Arizona. Don't miss the Clam Chowder and any of the smoked fish is perfectly prepared. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Eat in or take home what a great addition to Phoenix!

This was my first time trying Chula Seafood, and I had high expectations from seeing reviews of their Scottsdale location. I ordered the swordfish tacos and had the clam chowder fries as a side. Order was prepared fresh and in a reasonably fast manner. The swordfish was delicious and I would highly recommend it. The fries were crispy, thick cut, skin on, also highly satisfying. My order was to go, so they kept the clam chowder separate from the fries, and I'm glad they did, the clam chowder has enough potatoes in it, so I happily enjoyed the chowder separately from the fries.

This was their first day open, everything is clean, staff are friendly and have great attitudes, and the food was great. The restaurant is a bit noisy, with a concrete floor, wood ceiling and brick walls you should set your expectations accordingly.
