Ono Hawaiian BBQ

Amazing food and guest service. Michelle is SPECTACULAR!! Each time my husband and I visit this location she gives us the biggest smile and treats us like family. We absolutely love her. Job well done.

To those reviewers who have problems with the temperature of the mac salad and other foods that are served warm, not hot, at Ono Hawaiian restaurant, a little bit more knowledge about Hawaiian cooking is needed. In Hawaii, Hawaiian plate lunches are always served just warmed, not hot. In plate lunches the macaroni salad is always served slightly warmed, about the same temp. as the rice. Mainland USA folks are used to their mac salads served chilled, and the cooked foods served piping hot. While the warm temp. of the food seems like it has been sitting out too long because it is not piping hot, that is completely mistaken. The food is perfectly fresh, it is supposed to be served warmed, not HOT.
Think of it this way, if you lived in a year-round warm tropical humid climate - would you want to eat your lunches served piping hot in the middle of a warm day? Nope, that's just not authentic Hawaiian style. Also, the 'BBQ' in the restaurant name refers to traditional island-style grill cooking, NOT the thick BBQ sauce. Ono Hawaiian BBQ comes as closest to authentic Hawaiian plate lunch as any Hawaiian restaurant I've seen on the US mainland. Plate lunches are supposed to be served just warmed, - so relax, just hang loose, and enjoy a wonderful taste treat from the Islands. Ono Hawaiian BBQ does it very good and tasty at very reasonable prices!!! Mahalo & Aloha

They were fast and the portions were a good size. We ordered 8 entrees for a family get together, and I was surprised how quickly they put our large order together. The food was hot and tasty, I will be coming here again.
