Carlos O'Brien's Mexican Restaurant Mayo Blvd

We had a great meal after 5 days in the sun as vendors at the Arizona Bike Week. I would highly recommend asking for their most well known dish to chow down.

Nice place, pretty clean. The service was really good and people were friendly. Husband had the carnitas platter and thought is was really tasty, good portion of food too. I'm giving it 3 stars because it was just a little gimmicky. There was pretty much no "pub food" like it advertised, it's really just Mexican restaurant. Their "pub" section of the menu was a chicken sandwich, fish sandwich and fish and chips... Not what I'd call pub food. Probably wouldn't go again just because I can think of some other Mexican restaurants I'd rather visit. Overall not terrible but not that great.

My favorite Mexican place to go to lunch/dinner!! We love like the original decor on Northern but we have been going to Carlo's for 35+ years. Back at their original place on the corner of 16th Street/Bethany when no one had heard of them! Food is good at Nortara but atmosphere isn't as nice as Northern.

Standard Mexican American fare in a venue that also doubles as an Irish pub. The food though is quite good, especially their burros when you get them enchilada style! Portion sizes are massive, and the service is friendly. Happy hour features several drink and food specials, including $6 margaritas. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

This is more Tex-Mex fare. Ordered a ground beef enchilada with all toppings on the side except for sour cream but it came to the table with everything on it!
I don't care for melted stringy cheese on top of my beans and food items but prefer just shredded unsalted cheese. Overall atmosphere was good and service was adequate.
