Authentic island grub. Get yourself a plate ASAP! Location is real low-key on the West side of the n ranch market at 16th and Roosevelt
The chicken is ti die for loved everything thx guys!
This Hawaiian BBQ has raised the bar for Hawaiian BBQ. All others just don't hold a flame. I usually show up before they open, and there is already a line. You can't go wrong with Katsu, steak, or chicken. Everything they make tastes the best it possibly could. The action sauce they drizzle on top of everything adds the twist no one expected, but everyone wanted. To top it off, as if having the best Hawaiian BBQ in the city wasn't enough, they decide to make tacos on Tuesday and just take it all to another level. You can't over-hype this because it is the standard by which hype is set.
My BF and I checked out Local Style recently and it was soooooooo delish!! I was thrown off at first by not being able to find the location or signage but please don’t let that fool you. Just go to the west side of the Ranch Market plaza and walk right in the giant wooden double doors for some amazing tasty treats!! I especially recommend the steak but you can’t go wrong with anything you order????
Stopped by for dinner and was blown away. Just a simple menu specializing in lunch plates. The steak was tender, juicy, and well marinated. The chicken had a char grilled flavor and was accompanied by a spicy and creamy sauce.
The establishment is hidden in the west side of the infamous Ranchers Market, enter through the double swinging doors. There is a open courtyard with plenty of seating. I like the fact the kitchen is open and you can see the entire operation. This place is family owned and they were very warm and polite when they greeted my and my family. Also, be aware this place opens at 6:30 PM. They have only been open for a few months, no call-in or online ordering available as of yet.
So, those who are loyal and die-hard fans of Hawaiian plate lunches, you will not be disappointed. I like to compare this to Aloha Kitchen and it was just as amazing and a God send food that brings me joy. However, the mac salad I will give the slight nod to Aloha Kitchen as more flavorful. With that being said, I cannot justify giving this restaurant any less than 5 stars. If Aloha Kitchen is #1, Local Style Grindz is #1a!
Visit this place ASAP, you wont be disappointed!
