We sat on the patio and enjoyed delicious food and excellent service from Richie. The spinach enchilada w white sauce is yummy. My friend had fish tacos and loved them. The chicken enchilada was loaded with shredded chicken. You can't go wrong here. Don't let the construction on 90th stop you from this wonderful authentic Mexican food establishment!

Food great!! drinks great!!! Atmosphere GREAT!!! But lousy service... Had a horrible server every time I've been in. This restaurant needs more experienced or a better staff.

I give my experience 3 stars. The chips and salsa are always a nice start, but the chips were a bit, not fresh, and the salsa was bland. Which leads me to think it too wasn't so fresh. Not bad enough after salting it a bit.
I ordered the spinach enchiladas with black beans and rice. The enchiladas were good and was the best part of the whole meal. A bit too much cheese and sauce for me, but some people would find it perfect. The beans and rice were a bit bland as well, but bad. Overall, the price to what I felt I got was a tad bit high which lead me to 3 out of 5.

This is my husband's go to place ALWAYS, regardless what type of food he's in the mood for. For Mexican food, it's always my 1st choice. They serve traditional Mexican food & LOTS of it! I always end up taking part of mine home. But, you can't get a better buy for your money.
Plus, we like the fact, it's family owned & that they've been in the valley for over 30yrs. There's 2 locations in Scottsdale.
We never hesitate taking out of town guests here.
Service is always perfect, never pushy, but there when you need something.

I love this Ajo Al's location and have been coming here since I was a little girl. I am in love with their salsa, wish I had the recipe, and would marry it if I could. I have drool-induced dreams about the salsa. I could go on and on....❤❤❤
As far as the rest of the food, it's typical AZ Mexican food. Definitely greasy from all of the cheese, I cannot lie, but I also think it's really good. I love lots of melty cheese on my Mexican food!! I certainly don't go here because it's healthy, I go for the opposite reason. But when I'm craving Mexican food, this is my go to place. Busy on the weekend nights but I'm always able to get a table with my husband. Restaurant has gone through lots of changes over the years but I believe it's at one of it's best years in a long time. Will never be as good as it was in the 90's but then again, most AZ restaurants aren't as good as those of us who lived here during that decade. ????
