Guido's Chicago Meats & Deli

Wow!!!! Simply the best pizza we ever had eaten! Our waiter was excellent! Atmosphere was like we were in Italy. Will definitely definitely be back again.

Great place to get authentic Italian food! The deli section is terrific with made to order sandwiches. The salads, metas, breads and other Italian delicacies are all fresh and tasty. You can either take out or eat in. the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Truly one of the best places in town, everything on the menu is amazing and you'll never be disappointed. The Italian beef sandwich is one of the best I've had and it really comes down to their amazing homemade beef gravy. The veal piccata was excellent and cooked perfectly. It was so amazing you could actually taste the calf's tears in the seasoning it was as if it had spent it's life self seasoning to become the perfect cut of meat for us to enjoy.

Although I didn't take pictures, this place was ridiculously slow! My husband really liked the meatballs and he said his pastrami sandwich was really good, too. I had the hot cheese sandwich with roasted red peppers. I love roasted red peppers and they were basically extinct from my sandwich but the bread was yummy. The salami sandwich got a thumbs up as well so even though I only gave it 3 stars, it's an overall review so that's from the taste of the food and large portion sizes. A 45ish minute wait, along with excuses, to get 3 sandwiches is unacceptable!

Feels like you walked into an Italian deli/restaurant from the old school days back in Chicago. Food is delicious with Joe Guido making sure everything is made perfect. Great lunch spot. Go eat authentic Chicago style
