Ajo Al's Mexican Cafe

Restaurant did a great job with social distancing table seating and service. We felt very safe. Wait staff ware excellent and more than one person thanked us or dining at restaurant. Our meal was excellent! Portion size more than adequate, everything was fresh and prices very reasonable.

We have been going to Ajo Al’s for 20 years. Since dine-in isn’t an option now, we did curbside pick up. I wanted to thank Brad at the Shea location for being so helpful and accommodating with my order. It was perfect and delicious as always!

UPDATED!! I am glad that the restaurant management reached out to me regarding a 1-star rating. That was not my intention. The restaurant was slammed but nonetheless the service was terrible. We enjoyed the food and the chips with salsa arrived quickly. However 20 + minutes later we had to ask for our water it eventually came with our drinks. And that is how the evening kind of went. They were busy, I would give them another shot.

This visit was a carry out. Usually we always like to eat in the restaurant. I got the ono fajitas and the lady answering the phone suggested I try them cooked in tomato sauce rather than oil. Wow! Delicious and very healthy. The food is excellent doing carry out. Always hot and never a miss on anything ordered.

Ajo Al's has been around for as long as I can remember. While there are better Mexican food restaurants, Ajo Al's certainly is delicious and the friendly service can't be beat. We come at least a few times a year for large family gatherings, and they're always accommodating for our group size, which tends to be around 16 people.

The design of the restaurant is very warm, welcoming and creative, with glass cowboy hats acting as colorful lamp shades over the tables.
The menus themselves look like a first year design student went nuts, but not really in a good way.

Our group ordered a wide variety of menu items, from a burger to pollo con queso. Everyone was happy with their food and the portion sizes were so generous, most of us had leftovers to bring home. The nachos were delicious but if you think you can order an appetizer as a lighter meal option, you're sadly mistaken. It was a mountain probably about six inches high of tortilla chips, chicken, and cheese. So, so much cheese. It was very good but this is definitely better shared between maybe 6 or so people.
