Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill - Tempe

I would have given this place 5 stars but they either gave my reservation away before we arrived or didn't make it in the first place. We were 10 minutes earlier than what I had scheduled the reservation for so I know it wasn't deleted due to us being late. I have phone records showing my phone call and I confirmed that it was the correct phone number for this location. I don't know what happened but that was really uncool. :( Everything else was great. The food is always good. I felt bad for our poor server Vinnie. Everyone in his section was sat within minutes of each other so he was dashing between tables and the kitchen like a chicken with is head cut off. He was super nice and did a great job considering how insanely busy he was. He definitely deserves some recognition for his hard work.

Delicious food. Good service. I recommend the Bacon Wrapped Dates as an appetizer and the Rhubarb and White Chocolate Cheesecake. It was mouth watering. We also witnessed a marriage proposals. This is my 2nd time here and I think this will be our go to place.
Prices are fair and the food is unique. A nice place for a cold beer or martini. A fast appetizers or full course meal.

Really cool place to hang out. We visited during spring break and it was the place to be at the Marketplace. Lots of great food options and very flavorful. I personally like the pretzel and the Cuban sandwich. They have a full bar with all the drinks you can think of. The only downfall for my visit was we waited over an hour to get in and 2 hours to get our food. Total visit time was over 3 hours.

Decided to stop in and try the Thirsty Lion while I waited for my car to be serviced.

The front staff were quick to welcome guests and to seat them right away which was nice.

I grabbed a seat at the bar since I was dining solo and was quickly greeted by the bartender.

Being that this was my first time, I was pleased to see that they had an extensive drink and food menu and everything was well explained except for the prices for their beers.

After reviewing the menus, I chose to try the Korean Friend Chicken dish which arrived quickly and was very tasty. The portion size was good, but a little spendy for the amount ($15).

Overall I found the Thirsty Lion to be a nice place to grab a bite and beer .... even though some better delineation between the regular dining area and bar would be nice .... especially to keep little children away and to reduce noise from babies and children.

This place has a HUGE selection of alcoholic drinks-- wine, beer, cocktails, you name it. The menu features everything from creative cheese-infused burgers to tacos, steak, and salads. But there are also kid-friendly items on the menu! We did have a little problem-- my aunt and I got different burgers than the ones we ordered. But we couldn't even be mad because they were delicious anyway. I never would've ordered what I was brought (some sort of barbecue burger?) but it was amazing. Plus it was so busy and the service was still quick so we can't complain at all. I highly recommend!!
