El Gordo Mexican Grill #5

It Is definitely on my list on where to eat whenever I visit Phoenix. I went twice to have the Mar y Tierra Burrito without sour cream, very delicious.

Really good Mexican food. Have been trying to find good birria tacos around Tempe and this has to be on the top so far. It’s not the best tacos I’ve ever had but it’s really good, I would definitely go back. Also it’s in the Shell gas station lol didn’t mind it but I thought it was funny.

The food here is so amazing. Ordered via UberEats simply because I got into town late and it was a place nearby that was open... could not believe how good the food was. It was so good that we literally ordered it again the NEXT DAY for lunch. The Birra Torta is quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever had anywhere. The barbacoa tacos were savory and excellent. Shrimp taco was incredibly large for the price and the shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My daughter loved her bean and cheese burrito. I recommended this to friends in town as well -that's when we discovered it was in a Shell station -haha. Anyway, they agreed that they hadn't had Mexican this good in years. Wish I could get back there... might even try to get food from there if I ever have more than a two hour layover in Phoenix!

Ok, yes it’s inside of a shell station but this is not gas station food ! Everything there is made from scratch at the time of purchase. The ingredients are fresh and the recipes are authentic . 😘👌

This place made me moist. My only gripe is that the rolled tacos seemed bland, as in most of the flavor came from the guacamole and sour cream. I will certainly be back. It's nice because I can buy drugs from my dealer behind the gas station while I wait for my order to be made 👌🏿👌🏿
