Dining companion had jerk chicken which came with rice and beans, a festival, and cabbage. We shared a patty. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.
So yeah I like to consider myself somewhat of a know it all when it comes to some restaurants and fast food places this one here felt kind of homely when I walked in smiling faces nice people food a little bit overpriced but it's worth it food was fantastic have a couple small things that I would have changed the chicken The jerk Chicken to be exact was slightly dry and heavily sauced would have been nice if it was moist and lightly sauce so you can get some of that jerk flavor in there all I tasted was pretty much barbecue sauce the curry chicken and rice fantastic sweet plantains amazing addition to the meal so besides the jerk chicken being heavily sauced the only reason this place got a four star was because they didn't have any Jamaican beef patties when I went there hopefully next time they do and we can change this to a five star if they're good!! :-)
I tell all my friends and family about this place. There hasn't been one item on the menu that I disliked. Everything is reasonably priced and delicious. The jerk chicken, the brown stew chicken, the salt fish and ackee. I have tried almost everything and it has always tasted amazing! Their chicken foot soup is a lifesaver when I am feeling unwell or just need some warmth in the winter. The owners and staff are warm and kind. Always giving great service. I am so thankful they are close to my work too. Its been a wonderful blessing.
I must say that it has been a while since i have had the delightful taste & aroma of jamacian food being prepared as well as that taste.
Grandma used to make the most delicious foods i grew up having the honor of chewing and eating every week. From oxtail to curry goat to coconut drops, she went the full spectrum to give me tastes from her home and i loved them.
I get that same from this place. The curry goat is just as she made it as well as the curry chicken. And my favorite part...the rice! Oh my gods and goddesses...this is the best part of the plates here. Having that combination of the meats crossing over with the rice in your mouth is a sensational event.
With the reason for my grabbing this meal being a celebration of my youngest son turning 12, i went for the meal from here. It was a delight that brought me back in time as well as gave good vibes out to my son & my grandmothers memory.
Give this place a shot if you have similar memories of growing up with a family from Jamaica or even if you wonder what the tastes of the West Indies is like. You will not be disappointed
My Jamaican wife said this is the most Authentic Jamaican food she's had in America.
This place is the real deal!
She had that Callaloo and I had the Curry Goat - both were cooked to perfection and the flavors sent my taste buds on an adventure.
In addition to the amazing food. The service is warm, friendly, and caring.
We'll definitely be back!
