El Indio never disappoints. The food is delicious and the prices are good. The atmosphere is casual and the service has always been great. Two thumbs up!

I rarely give five stars. I reserve five stars for exceptional service, and product, as well as atmosphere. I'll start with the food. The food here is authentic Mexican cuisine at it's finest. I swear they have some ancient secrets that give their food and extra zing. Everytime I leave here I leave with great feelings and great expectations of the next visit. The seasoning choice is spot on and the proportions are ample. The service here is exceptional the servers and wait staff are helpful without hovering. The atmosphere is festive without being intrusive to your thoughts. This is a place for family, or a first date. They have clean everything including the restrooms. The prices are moderate and affordable. They have something tasty for any budget. I do highly recommend this restaurant if your in the area and especially if your not lol.

We stopped here for lunch. Restaurant was very clean and maintained. The staff was prompt and friendly. I had Dos Enchiladas Verde and my husband had ChileVerde De Pork. The food was outstanding and the price was reasonable. Bill was $30 for our meals and drinks. We will come here again the next time we pass through Tucson.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican, this is NOT it. They did not have Mexican bottled soft drinks (which is standard now for authentic Mexican restaurants). The chips were hard (too thick) so for you senior folks, don't bust a tooth. Salsa was HOT SAUCE, not salsa. They did not have just plain street tacos or plates. They do sell stand alone tacos (beef) individually and rather on the expensive side ($3+ each) for just a tortilla with beef. I ended up ordering the Steak Guisada plate. Was just OK. I give it 2 stars for meat quality (chewy) and 1 more overall plate. Note: Food can look appetizing with all the colors on white plates, don't let pictures deceive you. My review is based on quality of food, presentation, portion size, taste, texture and value for your money.

If I had a teleportation booth, I would be eating lunch at El Indo today. I loved the food, everything I ordered was delicious. I now live in South Carolina and I know of no restaurant of comparable quality within a two hundred mile circle. The chilitepin chili powder they had made everything taste like down home cooking. I grow many chilies at home and I love chilitepin above all. Sorry, I was eating, the El Indo food was Heavenly and I did not once give a thought to my phone. Here's my chilitepin plants, now in the kitchen to survive the winter cold.
Photos: Enjoy El Indo think of delicious chilies and vital food of high quality, 1) a pan of fresh chilitepins, 2) chilitepin plants in big pot 3) a plate of ghost chilies, 4) a young agave, 5) aji Amarillo, 6) the biggest chilitepin Texas I've ever grown.
