HUB Restaurant & Ice Creamery

This is a delicious date night downtown! If you go on a weekend evening you might want a reservation. The atmosphere is classy but cozy and the food is a different twist on some common favorites, burgers and fries, fish and chips, salads and sandwiches. Everything was delicious. We didn't stay for ice cream but I plan to go back. My only complaint would be that the ice cream is not on the main menu that I could see so I didn't even really know what I should be saving room for. There is a small display case up front but that wasn't enough to make me excited for it. It is a creamery so I expected there to be a bit more acknowledgement to that fact. Maybe I would have saved some room if I was more aware of what I was missing.

Nice atmosphere. We liked the cheese curds. The chicken pot pie is nice comfort food, albeit bland. My fiancee really liked the fish n chips and we saw the burgers were huge. We wanted ice cream but dinner was so filling, we had to skip dessert. Eclectic music selection topped off the enjoyable time.

It was Friday and Im a “good” catholic boy so I went for the fish n chips. Ive been disappointed in other restaurants quality of their fish n chips plate. The server reassured me that he thinks very highly of the fish plate. It isn't cod because of availability but was haddock. I mean after all, I’m in the desert and having fish… well perhaps not the best call on my behalf. ANYWAY, I like haddock, allot. So I dove in, no pun intended. He also recommended a local hazy IPA (love em) to accompany my meal. Everything was fantastic! Fish was juicy and flavorful, the chips were done perfectly and the IPA, it was definitely hazy and a very good paring (if you like beer). Service was great but I was really drawn to the building (architect). It was very tastefully done and the perfect backdrop to the food. Comfortable and fun environment to spend a couple hours in on a birthday dinner. Highly recommend The HUB to anyone visiting or living there for a great night out in downtown Tucson (not Tuscon).

This is an adorable up scale little restaurant. We had steak and salmon both the main and sides were delicious! If you love ice cream you will not be disappointed...the flavors and the flavor is to die for and although we only received one scoop, it was for a reason...the ice cream is so rich and creamy that it's the perfect serving. My hubby can eat a bowl full of ice cream and he was completely happy, especially with the flavors offered. If you are in the area, definitely stop by.
