Mama Louisa's Italian Restaurant & Catering

My first time here was in 1974 when i was 9 years old. So, its about time to give them a review! This restaurant has been amazingly the same for my lifetime and the food is still incredible. I took my now wife here 32 years ago for our first date! I left Tucson after college, but returned over the last 4 years many times while my daughter attended U of A. We NEVER missed a trip here to eat. Its that good and memorable. My entire family has eaten nothing but Joe's Special in the last 20 years, but i'm sure other things are good. Just do yourself a favor and go there. Super great staff, fun atmosphere and AMAZING food!

Delicious! We always visit whenever we spend the weekend in Tucson. My son loves the shells and “house” sauce. I love the Chicken Piccata. Yum!

I had the best chicken parmigiana ever! The administrator (wife) and I live 2.5 hours away and we had a family dinner there. The meals were superb and tasteful. Prices are also very reasonable as well. I will definitely be back some other time

Delicious food and great service! We had 13 in our group and the waitress was very attentive to us. The food all came out at a reasonable time and all together so everyone was able to eat together at the same time. Great place for big groups.

I've been going to Mama Louisa's since 1973. My mother was an avid Italian food fan and we tried out numerous places throughout Tucson. Till we found Mama's. The food is always a generous portion, very tasty and a decent variety. The staff is always cheerful and knowledgeable. Plus fresh out of the oven Italian rolls with a hint of garlic butter. My personal favorite is the Joe's Special, I usually add a meatball to this. Speaking of which, are almost the size of tennis balls. They have a seriously decent all you can eat lunch buffet, allowing you all you can eat soup, salad and a huge variety of pastas and sauces.
Though I do deeply miss seeing the original owners, Jean and Joe Elifonte when you would walk in, they'd personally would greet you. (They sadly passed away a few years ago.) But overall the restaurant is very pleasing with a family atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.
