Very cool oldies theme restaurant, unfortunately I had higher expectations for the customer service experience, we weren't even greeted or helped with menu options after letting cashier know it was our first time there, she simply proceeded to ask about what we were having.
The food was good, we order cheeseburgers chili dog and chicken tenders.
The chicken tenders were our favorite.
Would I go back again? Sure.. hopefully customer service experience improves.
Very nice fun place. The food is great. The prices are a little high but the quality, the service, and the atmosphere make it worth it. Felt like a kid again going to the local diner. Even serve beer and wine. Awesome desserts chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake, milkshakes. You can purchase a package of Italian beef to take home.
So excited to have that taste of Chicago closer to home! Went opening day. Italian beef was excellent. Service was fast for the amount of orders. Atmosphere is awesome. We will be back often when in Tucson.
Love this place since a good friend recommended it to me over a decade ago. As with many others so glad to have this in Tucson. The Italian beef sandwich is legit. The hot peppers are a tasty addition. And don't forget a side of nacho cheese for the crinkle fries. To date I have not spoken with a Chicagoan that doesn't rave about Portillos.
FINALLY!!! I signed up what seems like forever ago and got my preview meal ticket for Valentines day. I worked for the company many years in Illinois so I know exactly what to expect and I was not disappointed in the least! I had to get a beef and cheese fry for the authentic test. Dipped beef was perfect with the right proportions for the beef sweet peppers and mozzarella, bread was just right and held together through the dip, frys were crispy and salty (for any Portillo's newbies they're salty fries, YUM), cheese sauce was just right in the new cup which I am a big fan of.
Perfect.
I took a picture of the cheese sauce cup because it was so cool and intended to for the beef but I forgot it was just too good!
I can't wait to become a regular!
