Taco Giro

Food is good, but enchilada sauce is very salty. Salsa could use improvement too. Menu is quite varied with fish dishes.

Taco Giro is our neighborhood Mexican restaurant. We've been there dozens of times and the food is always fantastic, as well as the service. The prices are about 10% higher than most other Mexican restaurants, but they are still reasonable.

I've been traveling through the area for 2 weeks and Taco Giro was hands down the best Mexican food in Tucson! We weren't sure about going because we know that they are fairly new. We are so glad we stopped there to eat! Bean dip was perfect and the price right! Enjoy!

June 2019- This was the first restaurant my mom and I ate when we drove from California to Arizona to live last week. We came in to Tucson very late and searched for a restaurant that had takeout and was near the house. We tried this place and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered vegetarian burritos which were delicious (they were in a spinach wrap, which I'd never seen before in a Mexican place). Customer service was great and the food was ready by the time we got there, 2 minutes before closing.

Edit: July 2019- not very happy with our experience this time. We came by to pickup our food and there were Mata hanging on the railings as you walk in. They were mopping the floor with way too much bleach and it smelled terrible. Made me nauseous, and I wanted to leave but we had ready ordered so we ended up leaving with our food. Too bad because the good is very delicious. And their guacomole is to die for, so fresh and delicious.

I think my visit to Taco Giro can be best summed up as "pleasantly surprised." I was hesitant to try out a chain Mexican restaurant when there are so many great local places, but the reality is that the food here is actually pretty good for what its worth.

The biggest complaint I had right out the gate was the menu. It is mindbogglingly massive! There is seriously way too much to look at and I think it would benefit from a cut down. That said, even though the menu was so large the food was good. Typically when a restaurant tries to be a jack of all trades it is a master of none.

All in all, I could recommend this place. The wait staff is friendly, the seating is good, lighting is nice and calm without being too dark. It's certainly not a must try restaurant but it's far from a bad choice.
