Wooden Nickel Tavern

Bring an appetite! I was on an out of town trip, supporting our Tucson location. One of my coworkers suggested this place because they're known for their wings. I bought the 8 piece wings and an order of loaded tots. Man! These wings are cut off some big ol yard bird. Extremely crispy skin (which is a must) and the habenero mango sauce is perfectly sweet and spicy. Now onto these tots. Also very crispy (possibly double fried) plenty of nacho cheese, green onion, bacon pieces and sour cream. Let me tell you, the average couple could order this and leave comfortably full. For a single diner such as myself, it was a bit too much food. All said and done, with a drink included, my tab came to $19.50, which is pretty standard for eating just about anywhere these days. So if you're in the neighborhood, don't pass this place up!

The service is pretty decent for a bar, the general vibe of the place is very laid back and the wings! Oh the wings! Had them once and they had me thinking about those things all week! No other wings can compare. Must try, even if that's the only reason why you go to the wooden nickel. 🍗

The food is great for bar food. Could be better but did like the mango habanero wings! Great prices in those on Wednesdays I believe. The service is great. Cool bar with pool tables, music, and drinks. I give it 4.5 stars! If you like country, this is a good spot for weekends.
