6 Happy Diners
After touring the Biosphere 2 , we headed towards Oracle - 2 seniors , 2 adults 2 kids 9 and 12. We went in the Oracle Inn Steakhouse and Lounge for supper. There was a varied variety on the menu that pleased everyone. The waitress was awesome . She brought us a small homemade bread with butter ( she had added honey Mmmmm) . The bread was suppose to be for the 2 seniors with our meal but everyone was hungry and we all had a piece . She gave us another one at no extra charged . Brought me another glass of raspberry iced tea when my glass was still half full. Brought the kids a small pitcher of Root Beer for their refills. Homemade hamburgers and homemade buns for the kids - Our pasta meals were delicious and cooked to perfection- Quesidillas - again homemade - A well kept secret - Won't be for long - I will tell everyone in our park .
We were there in the mid-afternoon on a Sunday for a couple of beers, so this is a review just of the Sunday afternoon beer-drinking experience at the bar.
The service was pretty good. It was nice and slow so the bartender paid us good attention, checking if we needed refills as we finished our drinks. Though there was a shift change while we were there and it took a while for our new bartender to check in.
Unfortunately, all of the draft beers that everyone got tasted like the lines really badly needed to be cleaned. I couldn't even finish my Dragoon IPA because the taste was so off. I credit them for their selection of draft beers, but I suspect that they don't get enough draft beer drinkers to go through kegs quickly enough. As a result, the beer gets a bit old and the lines get a bit dirty.
The ambiance was really great. It really felt like stepping into the old West. Really great photos on the walls and a really charming building overall. We took the wrong entrance, into the restaurant instead of the bar, but this allowed us to walk through the whole place which I really enjoyed.
As my in-laws are moving to Oracle and this seems to be one of the few places that serves beer in town, I'll certainly be back. However, I'll opt for a bottle next time.
The food was great and the service was excellent! I had the prime rib and my wife had a rib eye steak. Everything on my plate was delicious. She didn't like the coleslaw or her Mac and cheese but the steak was the star and she loved it!! My son had chicken strips and ????. My sides were the sauteed veggies and mashed potatoes.
