My husband and I called and found out they were going to be closing the gift shop at 7:30 which means we were going to miss being able to get our long anticipated date shake by a few minutes! ! :( The sweetest angel, Asusena (I hope I got the spelling right!) said she would make the shakes for us and have them waiting when we got there so we didn’t miss out!!! What a wonderful woman and business and we are just THRILLED to try their famous date shakes!!! THANK YOU, Asusena!!!!!!

OMG the date shake is to die for! Possibly the best shake I've ever had in my life, including "the other" date shake I had the very next day at a completely different date farm. I've never seen so many dates in my life. Stop here! Do it! Get the date shake!

This place is a rare gas and bathroom stop along an agricultural stretch of I-8, but also sells a great variety of dates, souvenirs, and the fresh food offerings even include date shakes. The date prices are great and I appreciate the info placards with information on the history, flavor, and texture of each kind. You can tell by the feel that the fruit is fresher than what is found at the typical grocery store. I'd hoped to buy some date butter but they were unfortunately out of stock.

I happened to be in the middle of nowhere, so I of course decided to make a visit to try out the famous Date Shake. (In all seriousness, this is a great rest stop / gas station on the way to Yuma or San Diego).
Anyway, try that Date Shake! It’s super delicious and totally worth it. If you’re on the fence, get the smaller size, but I got the large and am glad I did. It had a very unique flavor. Like the other reviews said, a bigger straw would have been a bit more helpful. Definitely plan to come back if I’m ever in the area again. Thank you!!

October 2021: Glad we checked it out on Google Maps and stopped here. The have a nice place with oodles of dates. Place was clean and folks were nice. Tried my first date shake and decided right there and then that I love date shakes.
