EXCELLENT Mexican restaurant!!! Food is delicious and very reasonably priced! Beer is also very reasonably priced! I can't remember the name of the dish I had but everything was super good! Got to try Cactus for the 1st time ever too, liked it a lot. Will definitely be back, awesome restaurant!
Best in class! And this place has class, from it decor to its service it 5 start all the way! Or as my well traveled 10 yr old said, "11 out of 10!" Food exceptional, drink specials and Happy Hour great, service fantastical.... I really like this place and you will too! Ask for Gabriel!
Very good service. Clean place with nice decor. Food is delicious and authentic. I really enjoyed the Volcano.
Solid Mexican restaurant in Lowell. The atmosphere felt "clean" and each employee I interacted with was very friendly.
I started with sharing a chips and queso and it was great. For my entree I got 3 steak enchiladas with Mexican rice and refried beans, and it was fantastic. The Mexican rice and refried beans are the top of what you'd expect from an NWA Mexican restaurant and the enchiladas were some of the best I've ever had. Prices were reasonable.
Great food for a reasonable price! Super friendly. Probably the best tex-mex I've been to in NWA (and thankfully have some more authentic Mexican options too). Definitely enough good food options to please everyone! I particularly liked the salsa trio (brought out automatically), as I like a variety and they were all good. Atmosphere was as nice as any Tex Mex place, but nothing special. On the way out, they told us they could modify any of their dishes to suit our tastes (e.g. the regular steamed vegetables sounded "plain", but they said they could make them grilled for us, or seasoned, or whatever we wanted, so I'll get that next time).
Some notes on each of our dishes:
* I got the "cochinita" - citrus marinated pork shoulder and it was GOOD. Best dish I've had at a Tex Mex restaurant in as long as I can remember. Served with pickled onions that complemented it well. I *highly* recommend this if you like pork at all and if you want to try something with a distinct (and delicious) flavor.
I like that you can choose your two sides (instead of automatic rice & beans). The mexican rice was simple (no vegetables) but delicious.
* My wife got the "Pollo Ala Plancha" - it was seared well and seasoned well but not heavy on the seasoning. It had a LOT of bacon with it (which was great). I didn't personally try the shrimp on it. I thought it was too much cheese but my wife thought it could use a bit more cheese, haha! We all have our own tastes.
* My oldest son got three "Volcanos" - al Pastor, Chorizo, and Asada (steak). Don't miss out on trying items from the "De La Calle" page near the front - this will be more like taqueria (authentic) food. I tried his Asada volcano and it was excellent! All three were LOADED down with meat, very good value. His favorite was chorizo and second-fave was Al Pastor (I didn't try either of those).
* My youngest got from the kid's menu - chicken quesadilla, and replaced fries with Mexican rice. I tried a bit - very good (large size), but also too cheesy for me (haha! - that's why I don't order quesadillas for myself). Disappointed there weren't more Mexican choices on the kids menu, but I bet if you ask they'll do a kids' portion of a Mexican dish since they seem very accommodating. We'll ask next time.
Those meals for all of us, plus chips & salsa, plus a draft beer for me (so happy they have XX Ambar on draft! Hard to find that on draft anywhere and it's the best!)... all that was only like $56 plus the tip. Very affordable for restaurants these days! We left absolutely stuffed, and with a little leftovers.
Definitely plan to go back again. There were a lot of items on the menu I want to try, especially the El Rey Parillada and the Ceviche. Very happy to have this new Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurant not far away and so much better than most others in the area!
