If you are in Heber Springs do not miss out on your chance to have the best Mexican food ever. So much flavor, every bite so delicious, worth the money. Thank you El Rey for such a great experience!
We tried one more time. Timing is everything! Friday night at dinner time- better staff = better food + better service. If you like hot, ask for the hot sauce. Much better service and, with the hot sauce on the Chile verde, the food was fire! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because when we first came here, the Verde didn't need to be doctored with hot sauce; it was just awesome.
This place has authentic Mexican food, and everything was so delicious. The decor was very colorful and fun, and the staff were friendly and quick! Everything was fresh from the salsa and guacamole to the sizzling chicken and vegetables. They served alcohol, and it was also very good. We were pleased with everything we had! The next time I’m in Heber Springs, I will be returning for another great meal at El Rey!
Great foods. Pretty generous in their servings. Friendly and with good customer service. I recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican foods.
This is a new Mexican Restaurant for honey and me. Looking at it from the outside, you might be leery of going in. It was a little scary. But we love trying out "hole-in-the-walls!"
Once inside, it was very nice. Beautiful murals throughout the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly. Our wait staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
In comparison to other Mexican restaurants, I'd say it was on par. Very good but nothing spectacular. However, I was impressed with the salsa. I like to taste the flavor of each ingredient like the onions, the cilantro, the tomatoes, etc. This salsa filled the bill. It was mildly chunky; not like some restaurant salsa where all the ingredients taste like they were just pureed in a food processor.
I guess the only downside to this experience were the margaritas. For the price this restaurant charges for a house margarita, they should taste much better. Nevertheless, definitely a repeater.
