Worth the stop and great fried chicken
Authentic down home cooking like you'd do for yourself. Small restaurant in small out of the way town delivers BIG. Breakfast served 8-10, lunch 11-2:20. Not sure of dinner hours. Closed Saturday thru Monday. Luncheon buffet. Thursday is fried chicken, Friday is seafood. Had jonnycakes with my beans. Great desserts. My favorite: chocolate cream pie was served next to salad. Gotta love that! Staff is most friendly. After our meal, ate dessert with staff at their table. Upon arrival, they allowed our dog into the fenced backyard so he could run around, get watered and a snack. Everyone shares in the tips, so be generous. This is a place beyond reality. Can't wait to go back. Between Fayetteville and Fort Smith.
Thanks food was good. The decor definitely country. It is a small place in in an even smaller town. A group of us stopped for lunch and had a good meal. It is typical American country comfort food type of place. It is worth the visit if you are in the area.
We caught the Country Cafe at a weird time. They had just lost power, but there were several things to choose from on the buffet. We realized before we even sat down at a table that we had no payment because we had a card. We were prepared to find an alternative, but Mrs. Lynnette was so kind and said we could mail a check later. The food was delicious, and the people were so hospitable! Also, best hush puppies EVER!! If we end up in the area again, we'll be back!
We took a dash off the beaten path and were surprised to find this restaurant in the middle of "downtown" Chester. This quaint little restaurant has great food at excellent prices. It's exactly what you would expect from a restaurant located in a really small town. The staff was very friendly and you could tell that they took pride in turning out a good meal.
It's not too far off of I-49. So, give them a try if you are in the area. They are closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
