Came here on 1/5/20 at around 1:30. The place was pleasantly crowded which is always a good omen. Our waitress was awesome and the food was awesome. Next time I come here I am getting the boil bag because I saw those going out to some other tables and boy did they look good! Pictured here is the shrimp basket and the shrimp po’boy.
The food is delicious. Especially the pound of snow crab that comes with corn and smoke sausage! 10 out of 10.
VERY GOOD FOOD! I was expecting more of a Captain D's experience (because that's what the outside of the building looked like) but was super surprised at how good the food was. I got one of the crab/shrimp/lobster bags with mild Cajun seasoning and it was perfectly seasoned and a lot of food. The calamari was tender and well seasoned also. The shrimp were big. I recommend it to everyone in the Memphis, TN & West Memphis, AR area!
I am from the coast of North Carolina. I've lived in Arkansas 3 years and hated that there was no good seafood around. It's a typical problem in a landlocked state. I grew up on seafood though. Where I am from we live off seafood and deer. After 3 years I have FINALLY found a fantastic place to eat seafood. It was fresh, It was well cooked, and the seasoning was AH-MAZING! It was sweet. My 1 year old was able to taste something other than shrimp tonight. He absolutely loved it. The price is very reasonable for quality and quantity. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. We will be back! Definitely a hit with our family. Can't wait to take my family that followed us out here.
Passing through town with my daughter, we decided to try the Seafood Shack for the first time. Our waitress was mostly absent. After taking our order we didn't see her again until we got the check (she didn't even being us our food). No refills, no ketchup, no conversation. I ordered the fried shrimp basket for me and the catfish basket for my kiddo. My shrimp was not deveined and NEEDED to be. You could see it clearly through the fried batter, which was less than appetizing. The fries were okay, the slaw was tasteless, and the one hush puppy I got was tiny and raw. The taste of the hush puppy batter was really good, though, so I bet it would have been the best part of the meal were it cooked. The catfish was cooked nicely and the portion was just right for my 7 year old. I didn't see any adults working and didn't get a welcoming feel from any of the teenage staff. They seemed to be having a lot of fun together, but mostly ignoring the guests. An overall mediocre visit that won't warrant another one.
