Such a heartwarming experience!!! McGehee Arkansas has a Family owned Restaurant called The Owl Nest. Spring told us to have a seat where ever, brought us menus and even offered us breakfast because it is served all day. She also let us know about the new cheese curds. On the table we found "Fancy Ketchup", salt shaker, metal tin of black Pepper, yellow mustard, and a giant basket with an impressive selection of sweet and sour sauces from 3 different brands, picante, honey mustard, butter, and cocktail sauce.

A sweet young boy maybe 5 or 6 appeared with a pen in hand pad on our table smiling to take our order. He wrote it down cheeseburger, 3 chicken tenders, and a side salad..... he asked if that was all and tore the paper off and sprinted back to give his dad the order. Seconds later he returns and tells us it will be 10 minutes. He returns and asks what fries we wanted... we asked what do you have? Cajun or Regular, he said. We said is Cajun good? He said you never had them before!?!? We said no should we? And he said oh yeah and ran back to the kitchen. He then returned shortly to ask what we wanted on our burger and we said everything! He said okay and sprinted back saying it would be right out.

Our food arrived hand breaded chicken for sure, large cheeseburger with Cajun fries. I asked for ranch because I thought maybe the fries would be spicy but actually tasted like thicker, straight, arby fries that were so incredible they didn't need sauce. And bbq for the chicken. The kid returned with one tub of ranch and a handful of bbq and said he would be back with more we chuckled and said thanks but we are good. The cheeseburger was large and thinner and had a crisp on the outside like a thicker version of a Freddy's burger. All of a sudden our server was back with 4 more tubs of ranch. There were napkins in the window and I am sure upon request silverware. We couldn't finish and was so good we couldn't waste it so upon request April brought us a box.

At the checkout desk an older boy maybe 10 tried checking us out but our server insisted the older boy rolled his eyes and allowed it. I handed the little boy a $5, and my husband tipped him more on our credit card. The Dad then popped his head out from the back and asked us how everything was.

Incredible food and service!!! Definitely where all the locals go. 💗

The owls nest is one of my favorite places to grab a delicious chicken salad, shrimp, or cheese burger. I pretty much get the same thing all the time. The owls nest never disappoints. I really want to try the all day breakfast menu. Today I ate in for the first time. Customer service was A+!

Just passing through and ordered catfish to go. The catfish special was $8.99 and tasted great! Hard to find such a good value these days... The fried okra and onion rings were good as well!

    Will return!

I am going to give them 5 stars for just being open on Sunday in Mcgehee. 😂 We rolled in a little after 3 and they got us out two double cheese burgers with fries in less than 10 minutes. Killed it. Burgers were really good. Suggestion would be a bit more seasoning on the patties but none the less for a hungry man in the middle of nowhere when a sonic burger wasn't going to cut it, this thing hit the spot. Will certainly be back for breakfast as I hear it's even better!
