The food here was absolutely wonderful. Catfish, frog legs, fried okra fried shrimp, fresh corn on the cob, even a fresh salad was offered.
There were a few more things on the list including some of the largest chicken strips I've ever seen.
Don't forget to ask your server about crab legs.
Everything was very flavorful and cooked to perfection and well stocked.
The dessert options offered we're also very tasty.
Great tasting ice tea!
The service was fast and friendly
We will be back!
Crowded but never ran out of food. Great buffet for the price. Fish was amazing. We enjoyed it all and we're thrilled to have found this hidden gem!!
I've been going to this spot since the late 1990's (back when it was called Peyton Creek). I've always enjoyed the walk across the covered bridge across the creek and into the restaurant, where the smells of fresh catfish and the sweet scent of my favorite blackberry cobbler hit my senses. It's practically the same as I remember as a child (minus the smoking section). The food has a so familiar flavor which brings a great feeling of nostalgia. The price of the buffet isn't a cheaper option as far as buffet comes, but the food is really good quality food which will keep you full and the flavors will keep you satisfied. If I could afford to eat here more often, I'd likely do so, but I also realize the plate is definitely worth that much at least for what I can get.
We haven't been here since the new owners took over. We were completely satisfied! Everything was fresh and delicious. Real catfish, crispy and firm, clean. The place was packed but every employee had a smile on their face and were so pleasant. I'm already planning our next visit to this iconic restaurant.
I spotted this little place on the map and decided to check it out for dinner. It's basically a buffet of fried foods with some sides thrown in. We're talking fried catfish filets and steaks, chicken tenders, frog legs, shrimp, fries, green beans, hush puppies and mushrooms & okra (I think). The sides consisted of mac-n-cheese, greens, cob corn, baked beans, etc. They also had some crawfish and cold peel-n-eat shrimps. Desserts on offer were 2 different cobblers, some soft serve and a couple other things. The standouts for me were the tenders and the fried shrimp. The tenders were huge and the breading was perfectly seasoned. The mac was just so-so. Everything else I tried was pretty good. The soft serve was the custard-type with a slight yellow color instead of white and I loved it. The place overall was clean and the servers do a great job. I probably won't visit too much mainly because it's really out of the way from my neighborhood and it's a bit pricey. But 1 suggestion I'll make is I really wished they had some country gravy to go with those tenders. They're great by themselves but that gravy would kick them up to elite status. Just a thought. Btw, they could also use some sort of lighting in the parking lot cuz it's pitch black out there at night.
