Great little dimond in the rough! Very good all fresh! Definitely recommend the pan fried pork dumplings!! Ate all 8 almost by myself. The pineapple shrimp is great if you have a sweet tooth and is excellent. The veggie combination is definitely different with the sauce but still good if you want to try something different. It is a little off the highway but definitely worth it!! Don’t be fooled about the Chinese market the restaurant is inside.
I feel this is the best Chinese food in central Arkansas bar none, I’ve been a patron for almost a decade. Many different options for whatever type of food you want, Americanized or more traditional. I also have to give points for the always good service we receive when eating in. You’ll find something for everybody here. They remember you, and I have really enjoyed mr Chen’s every time!
We ordered Sizzling tofu, eggplant and pork, salted crispy chicken, and clam and tofu soup. It was not amazing but it might have been the most authentic Taiwanese food I’ve come across in Arkansas so far. 😂
I feel like it deserves 5 stars because I was so excited about the menu items offered, but had to take off 1 star because the crispy chicken had a strange bouncy consistency, and the clams were very chewy, either over-cooked or perhaps not too fresh. My favorite dish was the eggplant and the pork. The tofu dish had a satay sauce base which is not what I expected for this dish but it’s not bad. Perhaps I’m overly critical comparing it to actual Taiwanese food standards. I’d say this, I will come back and try other dishes!
