This is currently my favorite restaurant in Little Rock. The Salvadoran food is better than I've found anywhere, including Florida. The baleadas, plantains, papusas, yucca & chicharron, and tortas cubanas are fantastic. One English speaker in the place, but just look at the menu and point. Highly recommend!!
Good spot for Mexican food. The menu is in English but, the staff doesn't know very much. This is fine with me as it helps me to remember that I should improve my speaking and understanding of their native language too. This isn't a chain so you have to expect this.
I went to order papusas and the experience was a lot different from the last time I visited; the bigger difference was the name of the restaurant, which means there may have been under different management. While it's always weird being a black man walking into a Hispanic restaurant and you're not Hispanic, that was weird just attempting to break culture shock by trying not to be weird. The service was... questionable. You can't tell if they even want to serve you or try to pretend you're not there, however, I placed my order. The food was great but the experience of feeling partially alienated kinda put a damper on the experience overall. Plus, there wasn't much of a selection of the on the item, only two. The worst part of that was the way they were placed on the menu. It was almost like a scavenger hunt only to find that there were only two preparations for it. All in all, I'll just find another papusa spot or just try on a different day.
