It's a really nice hang out location. If drinks are going to be expensive, you want them to be delicious. The food AND drinks are worth every penny.
I ordered the calamari and the oyster Rockefeller. I am not a real oyster lover.. so when my order came and the oysters were warm at the cheese but cool and the oyster bits, I was a little turned off. I took my left overs and warm them in the over ( in a water bath). They came out great. This is a true oyster bar... everything was fresh. The only pain in the neck is finding a parking spot. I would recommend this restaurant for date night, friends hanging out, or taking visitors to a local eatery.
Went on a Friday night at 7ish, only a 10-15 min wait for a table. Lots of options to choose from and 4 raw oyster specials, $3-4 a piece. Cocktails were good, but maybe $12-15 each. We tried the fried okra and fish dip, and both were great. The fried okra was really crunchy on the outside, and the fish dip had a nice smoky flavor but wasn't overpowering. The red beans and rice were good but maybe could have been cooked down a little further. The grilled shrimp were seasoned well and cooked well, but the cheese grits were the best part of the entree. Some of the best grits I've had in Arkansas. We're not huge fans of oysters, but we figured we should give them a try. The steamboat island were our favorite. It is a little pricy, but generally worth it, so we'll be back.
Don't know why I waited so long to try this place. I don't do oysters but the crab cakes, catfish, shrimp, and cheese grits where awesome. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be coming back to try other things on the menu.
Delicious! Oysters Rockefeller is giving me everything I need. The savory cheese blend grilled over the oyster is awesome! The lobster roll has a excellent flavor meshed with the butter and seasoning. The fries were crispy and fresh! The gumbo did not disappoint and the accompanying bread was a perfect combo. The catfish was fresh and lightly seasoned.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Little Rock! I have tried most of the seafood and sides on their extensive menu. Favorites are the lobster roll, fresh and grilled oysters and the grilled catfish. Definitely do not forgo the sides here. My favorite sides are the manchego cheese grits, red beans and rice and black eyed peas. The seafood is a lot fresher than most Little Rock places. The fried items are a bit too salty. They also have great cocktails.
