The Root Cafe

i got a grilled ham and cheese here, and it was super tasty! the service did feel slightly impersonal, but my server was still polite, just a bit curt. based on other reviews raving about the staff, i assume my server was maybe just a bit overwhelmed or having an off night.

the seating is a bit all squished together, but it's still a very cute little spot, and it's nice to find somewhere that sources from local vendors and farmers.

Great overall experience with friendly quirky servers. Been back several times with several different people and it is consistently excellent. Try the Kimlet! Fantastic drink with some many layers of flavor. I am a seasoner with my food and never adjust theirs. It is just right out the gate with interesting combinations that are rooted in tradition and given new kicks.

We stopped by while driving through Little Rock and The Root Cafe was a great place to take a break with our golden retriever since their patio space is pet friendly.

The line was long, but worth the wait. The interaction with the cashier / host was great - he has a ton of fun facts.

We were cliche and tried what Guy Fierri had and were not at all disappointed. One of the best pimento cheeseburgers I’ve ever had.

The Root Cafe obviously uses the best ingredients because everything we have tried there tastes fresh and delicious. My girls rated the choc chip pancakes with whipped butter and REAL maple syrup. The coffee was some of the best we have had in the US (real coffee, just like what we can get in Australia). Poached eggs were poached to perfection, and the ham was delicious.

The staff were friendly and polite. It's counter service, which seems to confuse a few people used to the typical over the top customer service common in the US. We felt right at home.

Anytime we are in Little Rock we will be coming here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Such a cool little spot! The food was amazing. The vegan pancakes are a must! The tofu scramble was different from what we expected but very good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will visit again the next time we are in Little Rock.
