Walker's Restaurant

The food used to be so good here, but the one older lady gives the burnt meat at the end of the day and I guess she was saving the good stuff to take home! $50 worth of trash bc that's where it all went. We don't eat burnt meat so I am not sure why it was served. She intentionally skipped over the good pieces ! I'm glad she is not normally at the front. It'll be a while before I come back. I eat out 15-30 times per week and I want what I pay for!!!!!

Ordered hamburger steak mashed potatoes then chicken & dressing for mom pork chop peas& greens& yellow squash. Everything tasted authentic great soul food my new favorite

My sister, mother, and I are on a trip from Texas to Tennessee. We wanted to eat at some place other than fast food or chain restaurant. Google showed Walker's was nearby. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient. Excellent and numerous options for food choices. Everything was delicious. What I liked best...my 90 year old mother, who has been very picky with her food, nearly ate the entire meal. Thank you.

A friend suggested this place so I figured I'd check it out. It's cafeteria style so there's a wide selection of meats, sides and veggies to choose from. I got fried chicken (leg &thigh), corn and mac-n-cheese. Cornbread was also included, but you can choose a roll instead. The cornbread was ok but a bit crumbly. The mac and corn were both decent. The chicken, while cooked well and having an appetizing appearance, was disappointingly bland in flavor. Just needs some salt or seasoning salt or something. I may come back and try some ox tails or something else. The server was very friendly and provided a good explanation of the menu and pricing.
