OMG... Was great. The food was fresh. Could tell fresh oil was used. Hush puppies crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Catfish melted in your mouth. The coleslaw and bake beans seasoned to taste. Very please with my expierence. Definitely a must!
This place is alway so good and everyone is always so sweet. We went the day before Father’s Day, that visit was a special one we got to meet Mrs. Nancy she is the sweetest! She told us a little history about how they first started and then took my boys around to show them the pictures, while telling them about the pictures. It was so special and heart warming. This place never disappoints.
It was a mixed bag for us. Two in our group got shrimp and gave that 6 stars. Four of us got catfish and unanimously gave it 4 stars. My friend and I split chicken strips and garlic fries. My friend gave both 5 stars and I gave the chicken 4 stars and the garlic fries 1 star. There was sooooooo much grease in the fry basket we had to pat the fries dry in order to eat them. I've never been served undrained fries before and it was disgusting to me. But if you like grease, you'll be in heaven :) There's so much grease that your shoes slide on the floor in the restaurant when you walk. My husband put his phone down on the table and it was so greasy it left grease on the charging station in our truck.
The fried green tomatoes were not good. Small basket for $6, not worth it. They were also little cut up pieces, not slices, and they were sweet tasting. Like a bread and butter pickle. 🤢🤢. The chicken po' boy was very good. Great crunchy breading and moist chicken. Fries were good, little greasy but hey, they are fries after all. Pretty good experience here. It wasn't real cheap. $32 for two people.
