I've been dining here for years and the food and service are always top notch. Lots of incredibly flavorful dishes. This is one of the top places on my list of dining options in Alameda. It's a great spot for larger groups or small groups. I've brought several guests to try Injera and all have had pleasant experiences.
This is an easy place for vegans and meat eaters to enjoy since there are variety of menu options for both. My favorite is the silssi (it's super flavorful and a little spicy) with either eggplant or tofu, although I recommend a sampler platter for those new to Injera (they have serving sizes for 1, 2, or 4 people). They make a lovely honey wine in house that I love. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount of the food offered.
The staff are consistently welcoming, warm, and attentive. I recently went during a busy dinner hour with a close friend I hadn't seen in a while and we spent quite a long time catching up. We got only smiles and polite service, and we never felt rushed to wrap up our meal even when we were clearly finished eating and were just enjoying more conversation.
I highly recommend Injera to anyone wanting a pleasant dining experience with flavorful, comforting food.
The food is amazing, and I would rate it a 1trillion out of 10! ???????? Yum! ????
Delicious intricately flavored food. Lovely courteous service. From the appetizer, through a fascinating salad to chicken and beef entrees, all was special.
Lovely meal, I had the meat sampler and the chicken, beef, and lamb dishes were all excellent. It was my first time eating Ethiopian cuisine and I was impressed. Similar in some ways to Indian food, but much less unnecessary cream and oil than Indian restaurants often use. I appreciated that.
The perfect place to share an interactive meal with close friends or family. Plus, since everyone will have to use both hands no one will be on their phone ;-)
We ordered two samplers and we're greeted with an abundance of spice and flavor. The sponge bread makes it easy to find and consume any tasty bit of food. And you must pair your meal with some honey wine...it wouldn't be proper without!
A real treasure in the heart of Alameda!
