    A great coffee shop, good brew and quick service. It's attached to the grocery store, but it opens earlier, and you can get in through the side entrance. Their coffee and espresso drinks are very good, the only downside is their pastries and baked goods are just OK. However, there is a bakery at the back of the grocery store that has excellent pastries; unfortunately the grocery store doesn't open til 8am. I wish Beanery could work out a deal to get pastries from that bakery, but I'm sure they've tried and there is some complication preventing it.

    For coffee however, it's definitely the best place I've found in Alameda.

    Clean, friendly service, good coffee, good selection of pastries and the owner is a nice guy! Since it is inside a grocery store it can be noisy but they now have more seating inside and some outside....some parking too
