D'Yar

Great tasty food! I suggest the lamb (kebab or other) and their babaganoush.

Gyros was dry and not very tasty. The "pressed" pita just didn't do it for me. Loved the babaganous.

I usually don't give review but this one is too good. I've been on campus for 2 years, and I go there twice a week.
I could go just for the french fries, the best in Berkeley, but all the food is amazing. Also super friendly
I just wish their doggy bag were not in plastic - eat your meal there!

D'Yar is a great spot to get Mediterranean food around Berkeley, and has solid quality at a good price.

D'Yar was a place we would go at least a few times a month back in undergrad, and as such we became experts at the menu and nailed down our standard order. The amount of food you get is adequate, but the taste is fantastic. The standard order I'd get was Chicken Kebab plate with fries, definitely recommended.

I've since moved away from Berkeley, but the taste of D'Yar isn't really matched by anywhere else at this price point, and I definitely miss it :(

Excellent Mediterranean food. One does not expect the great quality from the outside. The place has a very "basic" atmosphere, just like in Turkey. The staff doesn't speak English. So, I am not sure about their nationality.
In any case, if you feel like getting pleasantly surprised, check it out. It is one block from the maim entrance to the campus of UC Berkeley.
