Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers

Wow the burger is so huge. I loved that. And the taste is legit. But one serious issue would be that they use plastic packaging for hamburgers to go. The problem is, when you arrive at home and wanna take a bite of it, the bottom side of the burger is already soaked by some humidity and heat from ingredients of the menu, which is gross.The packaging issue nearly got me lower the rating to 3 stars. Honestly, I would like to give 3.5 stars. Also, I would like yo add that if superduper burger was nearby my place, I would not have even tried here... Anyway so far I just tried one menu so let me try some other menus and update this review.

Great burgers curly fries other fries and Shattuck only specials which we're delicious. Super friendly staff dogs welcome outside

This was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. I got the Gastropub Burger, a 1/2 lb of Certified Angus Beef cooked medium, served on a pretzel bun and topped with provolone, bacon (perfectly cooked and flavored), a fried egg, and blackened potato chips. It was as red, juicy, and flavorful as you could wish. The steak fries were the Platonic ideal of steak fries. The chocolate milkshake (served with a spoon and with the extra in a blender cup, like it should be) was thick and rich. The atmosphere - wood tables and beams, with a roaring fire - was warm and comfortable, and the staff were smiling and hospitable. This place is exactly what a gourmet burger restaurant should be.

Reliable standard fare. A key East Bay joint with consistently great food. Hamburgers are always delicious, steak fries are a must. The salads are generous and tasty. Don’t miss the milkshakes! Our family has been going the Barney’s for two decades. It’s great for families and folks of all ages.

The veggie burger was better than I remembered 10 years ago! We ordered ahead. Phone service was prompt and courteous. Burger was ready for pick up at appointed time. Overall, a great take out experience, although a little pricey. Two vegan burgers and fries were around $28.
