Bongo Burger

Love the Mediterranean Plate. Great falafel and tabouli! I'm told the black bean burgers are great but I've never got past the Mediterranean Plate! And the fresh squeezed OJ is the real deal too.

I go there for the falafel and the onion rings. I get the falafel extra crispy 'cause I like em better that way. Also, fave onion rings in town.

The tastiest Persian burger in the bay area, maybe California, and I would venture to say in the US. Crispy sandwich bread rapped around a perfecty char broiled lamb burger and chopped onion mix with other added simple ingredients such as lettuce and tomatoes is just done perfect. I have to force myself to savor each bite since I can't wait to take the next bite. I live an hour away so I always plan my trip around stopping at Bongo Burger every time I happen to be in the area.

The burgers here are both good tasting and good-sized. Not too crowded. Prices are moderate for Berkeley -- I can't call it inexpensive at $10 -$12 for a midrange burger, fries, and a drink -- but definitely a few dollars less than what you'd pay for the same elsewhere in Berkeley.
