We shared a large pastrami sandwich, cole slaw, and potato salad. It was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was extremely busy but the food came so quickly we were thrilled. The waitress and hostess couldn't have been nicer and more helpful! The interior is dingy but it made me feel like I was back in a deli in Manhattan! We can't wait to go back for breakfast next time.

Decent place. I've tried their vegan "Yuba Scramble" with their freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and they were both delicious. But it's funny to me how like many other places, they bring their vegan options with no bread or anything that can feel you up :)
P.S: you might end up waiting for a little bit longer than expected if you go on Sunday mornings which is true about most decent brunch places.

Breakfast ends 2 PM at Saul's and at times I get going late, but it's what I want. I'll say the waffles, chicken apple sausage and vanilla egg creams are the best and so is the staff. Given the crowds that pass through they do their best to get me seated and if there is anything extra or special they do their best to get it in the order. It's a quality dining experience from start to finish.

Really enjoy going to a place like Saul's. Great atmosphere, good food, quick service, yummy desserts. Even though it's a very large room, it's still somehow cozy. Decent menu of traditional Jewish food, though it could be larger. Prices are Berkeley consistent.

My deli standbys - matzoh ball soup and a chicken liver/turkey sandwich - passed with flying colours. My dining partner's fish was a hit as well. The soup was good and hot, clear and the matzoh balls were fluffy. The bread for the sandwich was very good and the chicken liver was delish!
Service was good - quick and friendly.
Dessert - cheesecake and apple pie were solid. The persimmon puree that accompanied the cheesecake was particularly yummy!
